Meet Zach Newsome
PGA Assistant Teaching Professional
A native of Charlotte, NC, Zach learned to play the game at Rolling Hills Country Club in Monroe, NC. He started there in the golf business at the age of 16 as a member of the Outside Services Staff. After graduating from Methodist University and attaining his Class A PGA status, he landed here at The Daniel Island Club in 2014 where as an Assistant Golf Professional.
His passion for instructing and educating golfers of all ages and skill levels began to flourish and in the summer of 2015, he launched the PGA Junior League Program here with 22 junior golfers. Since then, the program has grown to 60+ junior golfers and has become a staple of the summer golf programs on Daniel Island. Through his work with the Operation 36 Program, SuperSpeed Training program, and other endeavors he has developed an atmosphere of growth and development with his students. Zach enjoys using Social Media and technology to assist others in the game of golf and finds many creative ways to implement them into his teaching.
